June 24-July 2, 2016
* It's been a while since I've added new pictures. I have been working on the plane but most has not been worthy of pictures. I put the seat pans in just to make airplane noises and found as I was sitting there that the canopy clamps rubbed my shoulder very uncomfortably. So I cut them off and relocated them forward. It doesn't rub now and is easier for both occupants to reach easily.
* The wings leading edges and the landing light receptacle were filled in, sanded and shaped. The Flaps and ailerons were also shaped, Filled, and sanded. The edges are coated with a sandable white primer then sanded with 320, 400 & 600 grit sand paper to make it smooth and blended with the gel-coat.
* After all that sanding I trial fit the flaps and worked to find where the cut in the fuselage goes for the actuation pin to stick through for both wings. I did this by putting a large stack of washers between the hinges and standing the actuation pin out from the fuselage so the flap could be moved up and down. This let me mark the fuselage for the cutout. I don't know how far in the down position the flaps are supposed to go though. My next session will be to cut the slot and position the flaps correctly so the ailerons and wing tips can be added.
* I modified the wooden stand to support the tail and get the plane level. It made for great "glamor" photos.
* The explanation of what has been done so far seems pretty simplistic, but don't let it fool you, it was a lot of work. I try to be a perfectionist but am not the best "body man". I'm hoping that when it goes to the paint shop someone better at it than me will fix it.
These have lots of filler to be sanded and shaped.
The landing light pocket is in and all is filled and sanded. The aileron is sitting on top and ready for primer and fitting.

Temp fit to find where cut goes in fuselage for actuation stub to fit through
Couldn't stand it any longer. I had to sit in it and make airplane noises
