*  The draw latches I had installed on the canopy were not working out. No matter where I put them they rubbed my shoulder. Very annoying. So, I reverted to the hook latches the came with the kit. They will do nicely since the cockpit should have a positive pressure and air will be going out not blowing in. The overhead latch is sufficient to pull the canopy close tightly. Since parts were cut out and messed up the canopy a bit of time was spent filling and repainting. It is looking good now.

*  In preparation for adding the wing tips and the fairing at the wing root the gel-coat is being removed. On the wing, it can be chipped off but on the wing tip it has to be sanded. What a dusty mess. The fuselage is getting Duct tape where it shouldn't be bonded.

*  I have removed the control sticks from the cockpit and cut the vertical tubes off. This will get re-welded to better place the Tosten grips. Left as is the grips would come close to hitting the instrument panel, so to alleviate that problem the mounting tube is getting angled back.

*  Update; Thanks to Will Fox the tubes for the grips have been welded on at the new angle. I have trimmed them to fit, repainted them and installed the grips. I then reinstalled the controls in the plane. The right grip is a bit closer to the panel than the left and will have to be bent slightly to get a bit more room. It looks good and the feel is nice.

(BTW, Thanksgiving was in the middle of this so there was no working on the plane for a week.)
