** I'm slowing down on working on the lightning. The motivation is low knowing that the engine isn't right and I haven't gotten a solution yet. I did make and installed the ground cable and starter cable. They were made with #2ga wire.
** The heater muff looks like it fits best on the forward exhaust crossover tube. I tried pointing the flanges forward but the scat tube routing was too messy. Rearward facing is better but crosses under rear exhaust pipe. It will be OK when heat shields are added to protect the scat tube. The scat tube doesn't hang much lower than the exhaust. If need be the scat tubes can be flattened a bit.
** The cowling needs to be further back from where it goes during a trial fit. To move it back the phenolic spacer between the engine and the fuel servo was removed. The servo cannot be reinstalled properly because the mounting studs are to long. Without the spacer the air cleaner and snorkel are too low. The baffling in that area will need to be redone.
