** With a huge effort from Nick at Arion, a resolution to the engine has been agreed upon. Continental will locate a replacement crankshaft. When they do they will contact me so that I can send the engine back. They will put the new crank in the engine I already have. They will also replace the fuel servo mounting studs that where too long. There never should have been a 1/2“ spacer.
** I noticed today that the studs holding the starter are not correct either. One is too long and one is too short.
** Happy news is that both of my planes are now in a big hangar and out of the weather. I am sharing it with a friend that has a tailwind. They all fit rather nice. I have started to move all my stuff from the single hanger I was building in into the new place. I’ll need to take some time to build benches though.
*** 10/20/2017 Update, Continental has decided to replace the engine instead of rebuilding the one I have. The too long studs for the fuel servo really got their attention.
