* There were a few minor things to take care of while waiting for my engine to arrive.
* I found that the rudder cables were rubbing a bit at the back bulkhead, so I removed the rudder and opened the holes. That seemed to fix the problem. I also found hole plugs at the hardware store that fit the access holes in the bottom of the rudder where the ball end fittings are fastened. They are nice and flush.
* Finished adding the fairing over the front landing gear strut. With all wheels and struts covered it looks so racy.
* While sitting in the cockpit making airplane noises I discovered that the ailerons would go up and down in unison as I moved the control stick front to back and keeping the ailerons balanced. This was due to the aileron push/pull shaft being far from the hinge line of the controls. I reversed the connection to get the shaft closer and sure enough the movement reduced substantially. I've seen several pictures of this connection in other Lightnings, but they are not consistent. The way I have it now is also easier to take apart when needed. Notice the large washers outside of each ball-end.
* When I think a nut is permanently installed I have been applying the thread marker (yellow in picture).
With the front fairing finish I'm left with waiting for the engine to arrive.
Flipped the connections. Put the aileron push tube to the rear instead of front. Less aileron movement when the stick is moved for & aft.
