* I cut out the NACA scoops. This was tedious since care was needed to make them look good. After cutting the opening I married the air duct adapters to the scoop using flox/epoxy. The left side was suborn and didn't want to stay put, since it was a bit to small. A wooden stick wedged in fixed that. The right side only needed tape.
* Got the AOI covers screwed in place after riveting in the nut plates.
* Ran the wires for the elevator trim tab. I'm using a Sub-D ,9 pin connector
* Added fiberglass to the joint between the stabs and the fuselage. It still needs sanded and filled for smoothness
* The skins for the canopy supplied by the manufacturer are hard to work with and very cracked from trying to bend them around the curves. A conversation with Gary (the Southwest distributor) convinced me to try another way. That is to fill the canopy frame channel with foam, sand smooth, and then add layers of fiberglass. So far I've filled the channel, sanded it smooth, and added a few layers of glass
The air duct that fits over the NACA scoop was a fit small so I had to persuade it to stay put while the flox mixture cured
This one was more cooperative
Bonded in place
These scoops were hard to cut out and get to look good. Filler was added to the inside ramp area joining the air duct
Got the covers fitted and fastened in place.
Getting the wiring in place for the trim tab. This is a sub-D 9 pin connector
The hinges are becoming a bit more permanent
Fiberglass over the fuselage/stab joint. It still needs sanded and then filled.
