*  Lots of work on the canopy. The frame channel was filled with expanding foam, cut down smooth and then fiber-glassed over for a solid base. After that it was filling with Feather-Fill and sanding off until relatively smooth and then filled again. Once this had been done at least 3 time and very close to my liking the edge to fuselage was worked on to get a good fit. Chopped fiber/epoxy was used on the edge to get a very close fit. This mix was injected into the space between the parts. Once cured the edge was sanded and a fresh layer of filler was applied to the canopy edge. 3 layers of vinyl tape define the fill edge at the glass. Before the last fill coat set, one layer of tape was pulled off to give the fill a nice straight, sharp edge. This last fill was sanded to my satisfaction and matched the fuselage very well in gap and flushness.

*  Tired of working on the Canopy I next turned to the wing Spar Support Structure. The structure was trial fit to the wing spars. The main bolt holes needed widening to allow the bolts to pass through the spars and past the landing gear socket. About 1/32".

One of the first things I did after receiving and inventorying the kit was mark and cut the slots for the spar pass-throughs. I reexamined that procedure and found that I had mid-interpreted the instructions and cut incorrectly. Fortunately, the slots were just not wide enough so I re-cut the slots and drilled the mounting holes. Much better the second time around.

*  Added the rudder cable guides to the spar structure. The instructions say to use 6 washers under each bolt as a spacer but I found that was too much and had to reduce to 4. The taller spacer hit the fuselage floor and would not let the spar structure rotate into place.

*  Installed the spare structures (per the instructions) which fit right to the pre-drilled holes. The nuts were all torqued to 15 ft.-lbs.

*  The tabs on the top of the structure were drilled and fasteners installed.
