* There has been a lot going on in my life since the last entry. My wife and I went on a 2 1/2 week trip to Australia. Pretty fantastic. Before I left on the trip I ordered quite a few items for the plane and most were delivered while I was away.
* The plane Power 60A alternator arrived and was installed. So was the oil cooler. Arion installed theirs on the engine mount and it looked like a good idea so I mounted mine there too. I think I will change the bolts out for longer ones though. They should go through both flanges on the cooler. I bought tygon tubing to simulate the routing of the oil lines so that I will know how long the hoses should be. The shroud on the oil cooler is 3" and will be a tight fit to get the air hose to bend up to the baffle port behind #4 cylinder.
* The exhaust has been ordered but not delivered yet. It is a custom made set from Vetterman.
* The air cleaner with snorkel, and cooling baffles from Van's aircraft arrived. A great deal of cutting, shaping and fitting (over and over) has taken place. The tape over the entrance to the fuel injection servo has been left in place to keep trash from contaminating it. It will have to be removed later. Arion sent pictures showing how they cut some of the baffles so I did the same. It's nice that EAA chapter 691 has a tool crib in my hanger. I've use the rivet squeezer and cleco's over and over. The baffles are not to hard, just time consuming and thought provoking.
