* Filled the wide gaps at the Elevator hinges with Superfil. They were sanded flush after curing.
* Per the build manual I built the jig to measure and set the angle of attack for each wing.
* The right side bolt holes for the spar box were repositioned by filling the incorrect holes with chopped fiber then the wings set in the proper position fore & aft, and AOI. Once in position the hole placements were marked from the inside, wings removed, spar box removed and the holes drilled from the inside. After drilling, the spar box was reinstalled and the wings placed back in position to verify the proper measurements. The fore/aft measurement (done per the manual) is 206.50in each side. With the cockpit edge set to 0 deg the spar box measured 1.9 deg front up. The left wing was set to match the fuselage wing root and the AOI bolt holes drilled. The left wings' AOI measured 0.5 deg nose up. After setting the left wing, the right wing was set to match at 0.5 deg. The wings AOI match perfectly as well the fore & aft placement. There needs to be 3 shims at the left wing trailing AOI bolt and 1 at the right wing leading edge AOI bolt.
* After the AOI holes were all drilled the wings were removed and the nut plates installed to the inside of the wing.
* With the spar box in place and the wing position set, the mounting bolts were once again torqued to 15 in/pounds.
* The flap actuation tube was bolted in place and then the spar box torque tubes installed.
** All of this is a major milestone and very exciting. Now other cockpit items can be installed and the wings can be worked on. I just need fuel tanks!
Filler added to clean up the openings to the hinges. It will get sanded flush after curing.
Made this jig so that the angle of attack can be measured and then the right wing set to match.
The jig has felt on it and wants to slide. Therefore the tape to hold it in place.
Fuselage cockpit side rail is 0 deg. The wings fore and aft placement is measured and both sides are 206.50in from top of vert stabilizer
