* Adjusted the ailerons so each move up 3.5" (according to the plans). The control sticks are set perpendicular with the bottom of the instrument panel. Getting this all set, and the added material on the rear spar of the horizontal stab, has restricted the elevators from their full travel. So I started sanding a bevel in the lower flanges for clearance.
* I took a few days of concentrated work to get the wheel pants fitted, brackets made and rivnuts installed. They are now solidly on and straight with each other and the fuselage. It's starting to look pretty racy.
* On the 26th I did a major sanding job on the horizontal stabs to get the proper movement and clearance for the elevators. A barrel sander on the die grinder fit in the space without having to remove the elevators. Power sanding is so much better. I got the clearances needed and all to fit nicely and straight. The next big task was getting the movements for the ailerons set properly. This was very time consuming, with a lot of climbing in and out of the cockpit to adjust the ball end mounts. It took several hours of this but the movement is now spot on, with 15° down/25° up. The right aileron was drooping a small bit so that was adjusted as well.
* I am now very satisfied with the movement, alignments and smooth feel of the controls.
Everything works smooth with no bumping or scraping.
Wheel fairing is also going on.
Very careful to get left and right straight and aligned with each other and the fuselage.
Both sides still need intersection fairings.
